Sheet Metal Materials

The commonly used materials for sheet metal processing are cold rolled sheet (SPCC), hot rolled sheet (SHCC), galvanized sheet (SECC, SGCC), copper (CU) brass, aluminum sheet (6061, 5052, 1010, 1060, 6063), hard aluminum, etc.), stainless steel (mirror finish, brushed finish, frosted finish), Depending on the different functions of the product, the choice of material is “other”, usually need to be considered according to its use and cost.

1、Plain cold rolled sheet SPCC
SPCC refers to the continuous rolling of steel ingots into coils or sheets of specific thickness by cold rolling mill. SPCC sheet metal material has no protective layer on the surface and is easily oxidized when exposed to air, especially in a humid environment, the oxidation process is faster and a dark red rust will appear. When used, the surface should be painted, plated or protected in other ways.

2. Galvanized steel SECC substrate
SECC is an ordinary cold rolled steel coil that becomes a galvanized product after various post-treatment processes such as degreasing, pickling and plating on a continuous galvanized production line. SECC sheet metal material has the same mechanical properties and processability as general cold-rolled steel, and has excellent corrosion resistance and decorative appearance. In the electronics, home appliance and furniture markets, competition is fierce and substitutes are difficult to find. For example, SECC is commonly used for computer cases.

3. Hot-dip galvanized steel sheet SGCC
SGCC sheet is a semi-finished product after hot pickling or cold rolling, cleaning, annealing, and plating the steel sheet in a zinc bath at a temperature of about 460°C. The zinc layer is then tempered, leveled and chemically treated. SGCC material is harder than SECC material, poor ductility (to avoid deep drawing design), thicker zinc layer, and poor weldability.

4. Stainless steel SUS301 Stainless steel SUS301 in the Cr (chromium) content is lower than SUS304, corrosion resistance is poor, but the cold processing can be obtained after a reasonable tensile strength and hardness, good elasticity. Mainly used for shrapnel springs and anti-electromagnetic interference.

5. Stainless steel SUS304 Stainless steel SUS304 sheet is one of the most widely used materials. Because it contains nickel (nickel), so it has better corrosion and heat resistance than chromium (chromium) steel. Has excellent mechanical properties, no heat treatment hardening, no elasticity.
